Is there any function in macOS to check the system files for integrity?

Greetings.
I am tormented by doubts that the working system works correctly. This is manifested in the fact that a third-party application should work like this: if there are no user actions in the system, then the application should suspend work after a certain time, but the application suspends its work in any case and does not resume even if there are user actions.
This is what happens in Mojave. Tried on High Sierra, everything is fine there.
I wonder if there is any function or software that can check the integrity of OS files, their correctness and other system functions?
If you know such software or a direction where to "dig", I will be grateful.
