Clean and speed up Mac OS X as much as possible?

I want to get rid of everything superfluous. MacBook 2013, 4Gb RAM. I'm moving to a Mac from Linux and love minimalism and perfectionism the most in this world. Notebook task: web development.
Let's make a complete list of what can be cut down with you.
I'll start:

2) Disable Dashboard. Go to settings - "Mission Control" - and uncheck "show Dashboard as separate space".

I understand that the linux past leaves its mark, but here's a tip for you: don't touch anything.
It works great out of the box too.

Don't waste your time, miracles don't happen. 4Gb is just not enough to work on 10.9 so you don't turn it off.

Nothing ever had to be turned off. My opinion - Macbook Air is not designed for "hard" use. It is suitable for housewives who want to surf the Internet, social networks, watch movies, run a couple of simple programs
.
I myself had 4GB of memory installed on my iMac for a long time - indeed, there were problems. But after pumping up to 16GB, all the "brakes" simply disappeared.

as a rule, the most important resource eater - the kernel_task process
can be reined in by editing ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext
1) Open System Information (under Apple icon in upper-left, click About This Mac, click More Info)
2) Click System Report button, under Hardware, find your "Model Identifier" -remember this for later use
3) Navigate to /System/Library/Extensions an right-click, Show Package Contents of IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext
4) Open Contents/PlugIns and Show Package Contents of ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext
5) Open Contents/Resources
6) Find your MacBookAir?_?.plist (? = your model identifier from step 2) and delete the file
7) Reboot! Remember, anytime you do a System Update, you may need to repeat this process
