And what, actually functionality from analog of the Active Directory you want to receive?
To synchronize users - just a bunch of different LDAP servers. For centralized configuration management - Ansible, Chief and others (there are many different ones)

Of course, this is Ldap, but there are very affordable assemblies in terms of administration, for example, ClearOS, there are many settings that can be controlled through the web interface .....
I myself implemented and used it at one company at the request of the management, now I know for 2 years without problems
