Is there a way to use the video card memory by the system?

Actually, there is a computer with 512 MB of RAM and a video card with 1 GB of RAM on board (crazy configuration, but that's a given). Of course, the swap file is bursting at the seams; I want to use the memory of the video card, but a long googling did not bring any results - I don’t know if this is possible in principle. Any thoughts?

It’s impossible humanly, and there’s no point in it, video memory has a terribly high latency and terribly low performance with random access, there won’t be much sense in the general case.

There is a different architecture, and the OS has not yet learned how to use video power.

Yes, and in Linux, not everything is so trivial with this.
In general, if you ask such a question, it’s better to splurge on the bar.

In Linux it is possible.

There is another problem with video memory - it may not be reliable enough, often manufacturers put half-broken memory chips - you won't see a broken pixel in the picture, but for a program it can be fatal.
