Is there a virus that can inject a virus into the downloaded isoshnik?

I watch how calmly people write a disk image for reinstallation on a virus system and I can’t understand if there are really no viruses that can crap the disk image? And when using AppArmor in Linux, is it possible to avoid the attack of this malware?

This way of spreading the virus is quite possible .
Is it actually used? I don't think so. the number of cases where the installation of the OS occurs in this way is negligible.
There are indeed cases of viruses in images, but they do not get there on the user's machine, but much earlier. For example, on a hacked site from where the image is downloaded.

In order for a virus to be able to fit itself into the isoshnik, it must be able to work with it.
since there may not be a library for working with the iso box in the system, you will have to carry the code for working with the iso box with you, well xs, it is unlikely. single viruses.
hash signatures of files are usually used to verify the correctness of downloading and storing files.

ISO is a regular file (archive). A virus is just a program.
What is the difference between changing an ISO image through an ISO image editing program and changing it with a virus program?

Viruses are usually started by you, i.e. the program starts with normal rights, which will allow you to read and modify the iso image. I repeat, the actions of viruses do not differ in any way from the actions of programs for editing iso images.
