I want to scatter a lot of keywords around the news in keywords. In my opinion they should be there.
This is not some kind of consumer goods like the keyword "news". There are no such words in the general list. Each keyword of the general list is unique in its own way: something is related to the name, something to its date, something to its category. And just like that, a fairly long line with a bunch of keywords is typed.
I read somewhere that it is desirable to use 15-20 keywords, but I don’t remember from that article whether more is possible. And what is the risk?
How many keywords can be used in the keywords meta tag? Of course, we are not talking about 50 or 100 keywords. I just sometimes have a little more than 20 of them.
And the second question, does the order of placement of a keyword in the general list have? Well, for example, the first keyword will "weigh more" than the last - is there such a thing?

You can not use this tag at all, because. it has long lost its relevance and was excluded from the recommendations of search engines. Unless your competitors make it easy you want your keywords to be easy to put together.
However, if in your opinion they should exist - add, but do not expect a miracle from this. The order does not matter, as well as the presence / absence of words in principle)

If you have keywords from an article/news - this is one thing.
If you are going to add "similar in meaning" and have nothing to do with the information in the main content of the page, you will fall under the PS filter.

I just sometimes have a little more than 20 of them.

The main 5-7 are selected and added to the META tag. All the rest - PS robots will be taken from the main text.
A simple and basic rule is not to mislead people by trying to promote your resource!

The meta tag of keywords has not had any effect on ranking for a long time. You can even shove a Dostoevsky novel there.
