Is there a good UI example of multiple selection from a large list?

Tell me, please, is there an example of a quality control for multiple selection from a large list. For example, you want to select multiple countries.
What is the best way to do it: an input field with a drop-down hint as it is typed and, when selected, adding it to a separate field (or to the same one, like, for example, tags in Toaster)? Or 2 lists with arrows to select, delete? Or else how?
The application is most likely a desktop one, but there may be a mobile version, I would not want it to be very different in it.

Hello,
the main mistake in posing the question is the context. He is not.
It is possible to make each option from the described ones. And then set a context that will be great for each type of performance.
So the question is: what is all this for? Who, how and why choose something? What will happen to the chosen one? Are there dependent/related fields for this selection? How many can you choose? Can I submit my own options? Will the list change? Is it necessary to choose? Is it possible to categorize the list (if countries, then by continents for example)? Well, that's all.

As in a toaster with tags - quite common and convenient.
