Is there a $500 laptop fit for life?

In anticipation of the receipt and receipt of cash from my birthday, I thought about how to do better. Give your sister your "monster" (Dell xps 17 (I think it's clear why it's not suitable for dragging with you for couples ...)) in exchange for a typewriter, which Linux will roll on and will be basically normal, and invest the money in a stationary PC. Or take some laptop for this money, which can be used daily without tears and pain, there is programming (C ++, Python, C, etc.), it is comfortable to use the browser and, in principle, nothing more powerful will be used, but a very important point these are small sizes, the presence or possibility of using ssd and the replacement of RAM and preferably a battery that will not die in two hours, so I tried to look for it myself,

I recently picked up a used Lenovo Thinkpad Helix in the US for $100, full stuffing (Core i7, 8 RAM, 256 SSD). Then I found that the Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga would suit me better. I recommend looking in this direction (used in good condition on Avito or ebay), laptops have not become too powerful in recent years.

Acer Aspire A315-21-97RW (NX.GNVER.077) or Acer Aspire 3 (A315-53-3830
) not always comfortable image for the eyes.

For your conditions, I recommend looking towards netbooks 10 ".. 12". It makes no sense to invest $500 if it is conditionally the last $500 (not in the sense of the last to eat doshirak, but in the sense that in a week you will drop it (sometimes happens to everyone) and you will not have $150 to repair it - but repair laptops are almost always expensive). Invest in a good tool when you are working, and a good tool allows you to work more efficiently. It is better to save money while learning to play an instrument.
Avoid Lenovo - their budget series is inadequate.
I will support the previous answers in the sense that all Acers will be a good option, this brand has always been strong in the budget segment.
There are a lot of netbooks now, which in the characteristics: "SSD 32Gb", "SSD 60Gb" - run away from these, there is a crappy SSD soldered on the board, replacing it will be a big problem. It's better to take a model with an HDD and immediately upgrade to a 240Gb SSD - it may even turn out to be more economical than a ready-made model with a normal SSD.

In general, if someone else ever looks at this question, then I bought myself a dell inspiron 13 and, in principle, I feel good (although upon closer examination it turned out that my mother was standing upright inside ....) voooot
