Is the programmer a humanist?

Good afternoon.
One fine day I decided to go to study as a programmer, and from that day my quiet life was over. It is worth noting that in the technical sciences I did not particularly shine, the humanitarian ones were best given. Not to say that I'm a completely layman in mathematics, it could be worse. Of all the other things, my attention was attracted by the Department of Finance and Information Technology Management. Perhaps, since I'm not quite good at math, it's better to try myself in management, like "Business Informatics"?
Among the variety of departments, which one to choose if you want to become a programmer?
Are there normal universities NOT in Moscow and NOT in St. Petersburg?

One fine day, I decided to go to study as a programmer.
I sat down at a PC and started studying
PS: the university will give a “base”, very cool (or how lucky), which will help solve very cool problems (or not).
The problem is that no one will let you in on such tasks without an o/r. And without o / r it is not clear whether they give you a cool "base"

doesn't quite work with math
bad sign. If it gets to the level of "I can't draw an algorithm for going to the grocery store, with 2-5 branches", then there may be problems with programming.
Even worse if self-learning ability is low or non-existent

I don’t quite understand the question...
If your task is to really program, and not to take tests at a university, then get a job in the appropriate company as an assistant to a junior. Otherwise, you will always have to look for 'normal' universities ...

One fine day I decided to study to be an admin :) I went to the employment office (as the employment service was then called), asked for vacancies "anything about computers". Auntie was not at all embarrassed by such a request - and she gave me a direction from the computer operator to the plant. That was my primary admin school :D

There are plenty of good universities. The question is where you need, and accordingly, what you want to get as a result. Well, a lot of other issues, ranging from resources to opportunities.

I didn't understand the problem. Well, the humanist and the humanist. To hell with it. It happens. People live without arms/legs/half of the brain. Trifle. Well, math is inefficient and okay. People, out there, can’t even add 2 + 2 sometimes, they live in peace ( Moreover, working as programmers to some extent! Read questions from sections of mathematics or algorithms, sometimes they ask how to calculate percentages!). Just do what works and you like it. And everything is here. Like programming? Program. I do not like? Well, then you probably don't have to. Choose a department that is tougher and more difficult, where they will load the most, but in a way that would cope. That is, it makes no sense to enter Moscow State University or Moscow State Technical University and be expelled in six months if you know that you are not ready to screw up mathematics 14/7. And if it’s not Moscow yet, then what is the agony of choice? There is always an institute and a department that are valued above others in the city, and strive there.
