Is the physical resource of the CPU and GPU consumed during operation?

It is possible to load a powerful machine with distributed computing, the question is, if I provide good cooling, will the processor and GPU physically wear out?
All of a sudden, I’ve been driving hardware for six months and then there will be nothing to render on. Thank you.

There was such a good viduha: GeForce 8800GT. Its price/performance ratio was clearly skewed heavily in favor of the latter.
Here, after 5 years, the solder on the chip stably dried up, cracked and the chip "fell off". I don't know if this was done on purpose to "age" a good, relatively inexpensive video card, or if most different vendors had a strange lot of solder at once - I don't know, but the fact remains.
