Is The Busy Coder's Guide to Android Development book lacking for learning?

Can I rely on this book to complete all the examples? Or does this way of learning have disadvantages?

This book is good as a supplement, but not as a standalone source of learning.

The book is quite old, Android version up to 3.0. A lot of problems and their solutions that were for those old devices are not relevant now. I would recommend these books:
