Is Ruby on Rails very popular in freelancing and in the US?

I would like to work in the Valley, even if it sounds very funny, but still I would like to become a good programmer as soon as possible and move. I read a lot that it is the rails that are most popular there and I would like to hear your opinion on this matter.

If you are interested in Rails, then become in Rails.
This has no direct connection with a successful job search in the Valley.
You can do the same with PHP.
The main thing is to be a specialist.
