Is it worth switching to WIFI N from G?

Hello. A mile and a half from me is a WIFI point b/g/n. Now there is a 12dBi antenna that works only in b / g. Speed 15-17 Mbps for reception and for return. This speed is at -50 that at -75. CQQ 60-100. Should I buy a CPE antenna directional 8 dBi but which works in b / g / n?
The speed above the trees and behind the tree is the same, only the signal is worse than the tree.
The antenna meant Tp-link tl-wa5210g which works in b/g and its antenna is 12 dBi, and I think to buy ubiquiti nanostation loco m2 which works in b/g/n standard, but the antenna is 8 dBi. Will the speed be higher?

@nimbo

take Cambium ePMP 1000 (you can use Integrated, it has 11 db antenna) and that's it. with all my love for MikroTik solutions, Cambium is many times better. Ubiquiti is generally not very good in all palans.
