Is it worth risking your profile for the first React project?
Hello everyone
Recently I studied React and I want to take on the first project on Upwork, but I'm afraid to fill it up and get a bad rating. Offers rained down with React, but constantly refused. 270 hours, 100% Job score.
Do you think it's worth the risk?

If you doubt yourself that much, don't.
If you are just a coward, but in fact you are sure that you will solve the problem - remember that you are working on upwork for the sake of money, and not for the stars, and there is no such jss from which it is impossible to get back to the top rated.
And if tops have a feature to remove a review, well, in extreme cases, a refund.
By the way, this is how I grew up, and for me this is the main plus of freelancing - you take on an unknown task, you figure it out, you do it, you get it for the money, you stay in profit in all respects: HR, experience, grandmas, rating.
Depends on your goals.
If you want to work with React in the future, and not with your current technologies, then you should definitely switch to projects on it right now.
If you want React just because it pays more, then don't. It is better to think about how to increase your professionalism in your main technology stack (in most cases, the rate can be significantly increased, with the exception of ancient and unpopular technologies)
. In general, I personally have a completely different attitude towards the rate on Upwork. What does it mean to take risks? One bad review doesn't solve anything. People with 50% jss find projects. Yes, and it’s better to be more confident in the successful work with React, you already have programming experience, and here you just need to use a different technology.
why not openly agree with the customer what you are doing for a "test" and have not yet honed your skills, in which case, no problem to make a refund, I'm sure you will not be given a negative review when agreed, even with a negative result.
