Is it worth it to work as a technical support specialist in a bank?
Good afternoon.
I live in the capital of a poor southern region.
2 weeks ago I was laid off in college, worked in it for 4 years. For the most part, I did Enikey work, but there was work with servers - to raise services, make backups, register vlan on routers, etc.
Basically, all the vacancies that are available are from Enikey and for 3 kopecks, but I want more growth.
I received an offer to work in a bank as a technical support specialist. Work in the operating office in one person, but there are 3 of them in all offices, plus remotely support 2 offices in the neighboring region, and since the staff of the technical support department is 5 people and is located in another city (there is a regional center), when the employees of my department are in vacation or on sick leave, you will have to take 1 more region on yourself. There are no servers, purely computers, office equipment and helpdesk.
Zp 45-50 on hand, white salary, for my region this is considered a very decent salary, I will have to look for such a salary for more than one month.
Maybe someone worked like this in a bank at the technical support level - tell me, did you like it? in general, is there any prospects for technical support?
What confuses me is that I want further development in IT, but here, again, I think it will not happen.
There will be constant requests to the helpdesk, have time to close them on time, the same type of questions and problems, like a boy, do this, do that.
I will be grateful for your advice

In order to develop in IT, you just need a desire.
Nobody interferes in the evening after work or in the morning before work to do their projects and learn new things.
If the soul does not lie, then why go where you think you will be an errand boy?
I recommend working there for one year. It will give some useful experience (including soft skills), but you should not stay too long. Some people become respectful when they see on your resume that you worked in a bank. I don’t know why (there seem to be no objective reasons), but such stereotypes do exist. So get to work. Perhaps you will be squeezed out like a lemon, but you won’t have time to die in one year, but you will collect a small financial pillow to look for another job.
You are right, there will be no development in the helpdesk.
You will click puzzles like nuts, and at some point you will just get bored.
Learn Linux and try to get a job as an administrator.

It bothers me alone that in Moscow with a salary of 50K it’s quite problematic to save up a financial cushion ......
But that’s okay ..... everyone has different appetites .....
And so, I will support many that it’s worth working, like At least you'll discover something new...
Under no circumstances would I recommend going there! There will be no development there at all (neither in technology nor in banking, I know from my own experience). I, too, in my time "want" for a vacancy in my city for something like that. Maybe the specialists in the "head" (MSC) and received some kind of development here in the region, you are just "hands", you do EVERYTHING according to the tasks and instructions that come from above.
+ banking specifics, bureaucracy, etc. For example, on your software you will have everything slaughtered in terms of the Internet (or total surveillance where you go), you won’t be able to put something on your PC (for example, you suddenly want to study something and you won’t be able to put anything )
Yes, and yesterday to do something else, as advised here - do you need it? Well, if there is no family, then you can try something else,
If you go there - try to immediately determine whether there will be a real opportunity to upgrade in some kind of technology. An example is one from a bank. areas (for example - loans + ABS, processing, etc.)
I would go to have experience for the next job. Not everywhere they want to take without work experience, especially if they are good companies!
