Stores generally should not be done on CMS that are not designed for this.
Using Joomla, Wordpress, Drupal, DLE to create stores is the best of the best!)
There are a bunch of normal SPECIAL solutions for stores:
OpenCart, Shop-script, Bitrix, eCommerce, PrestaShop.
The rest is like removing teeth through the ass.
Costs. It is worth it if you need to create an online store quickly, cheaply, at minimal cost.
From my experience. Created a store on Joomla + Vmart, promoted, accumulated a pool of tasks for non-standard solutions. Changed to an engine running on the framework.
sometimes I come across stores on Joomla. mostly based on VirtueMart.
Basically, the trouble is with duplicate pages + they usually slow down,
I don’t know what it is connected with, but I believe that someone can make a good store on Joomla.
So far I have not seen this

Costs. Joomla + Joomshopping (latest versions). Easy integration with Robokassa, Walletone, WebMoney, Yandex.Money. The default settings of the store allow you to adapt it to any product. Great for selling electronics (files, etc.).
Of the minuses: you need to spend time learning the Jooml framework and the store structure.
It’s not worth it, everything will be very difficult, our Joomla sites are periodically hacked by robots and put viruses, so it’s not worth it. Take an online store CMS.
It's worth it, if you don't toil with ready-made components, finishing them to the mind.
And take a clean joomla, rewrite the database, and write everything yourself.
There is a portal that sells information for owners of ps, on joomle 1.5, since it was written a long time ago, it works perfectly, without brakes and lags (pages are generated in 0.298 s), a payment system, both through accounts and webmoney checkout.
As for hacking, if you set all the rights to files and folders normally, change the standard authorization and registration methods, and use a good, stable DDOS proxy, then there will be nothing terrible for such a site, no matter how much we don’t have DDOS or how many we didn’t try hack, except for the lip, they didn’t get anything)
