Is it worth it to launch the application in production in stages?
Once, in a conversation with a friend, we decided to create an application. The idea is to take the mechanics of a board game and extrapolate it to an iPhone + iPad/AppleTV to play with a crowd on one TV/iPad.
The content has the possibility of infinite expansion, we plan to create a community around the game and gradually recruit people to fill content in the spirit of Wikipedia.
At the moment, the mechanics themselves + the backend for filling are implemented.
The next stage is the formation of the setting and visual, ui, animation, and so on.
But there was an idea to publish the game in a simple form to start a community recruitment (because it is already possible to play), in order to gradually create a content generation platform.
The game will be valuable to those who are interested in the mechanics themselves. They will be the backbone of the community.
And later pack it into something cool in terms of media and visuals, and release 2.0 with goodies and so on. But the problem is that production is here for at least a year.
Question - does it make sense to release a simple version? Won't there be frustration that this simple option will drag out and interfere with the production of the full version.
