Is it worth it to close WP comment pages from indexing (in terms of SEO)?

Hello. Faced with the fact that in the Search Console blog articles, where there is a pagination of comments, are highlighted as content with a repeating meta description.
In this regard, I decided to ask the experts for advice, what to do? I have a canonical link to the main page, from pages like domain/article/comment-page-2, but is it worth closing such pages in robots.txt if Google swears?
What is the best thing to do, leave as is or close, in terms of SEO? Has anyone had such an experience?

It is not advisable to close such pages, just point rel canonical either to the page with all comments (show all), if any, or canonical to each page of comments on itself. John Mueller (Google Lead Analyst) wrote that meta-information can be duplicated in pagination, this is absolutely normal, and resp. You should not pay attention to messages in the search console (his words).
