Is it possible to work with PC buses at the physical level?

Is it possible to work with PC buses (PCI, USB, SATA) at the physical level, that is, considering the tires only as a set of pins (physical connection)? Roughly speaking, use the PC as a microcontroller. For example, control the logic voltage on the PCI or USB pins.

Can. But if you don't work as a lead engineer at Intel, AMD, etc - then life is too short for that.

The entire periphery has long been working through logical layers. There is probably only access to contacts directly to LPT, and there are a lot of layers there, just for compatibility, there is such a device in the operating system (in windows, for example, write / read directly to the lpt0 file).
directly to the data PCI contacts, in theory, they are directly available there, the specifications are open (almost), buy access, read and study ..
but why do you need it? you also need a device that will listen to you on this port, .. those that are also not scattered by specifications.
