Is it possible to work as a freelance PCB designer?

Hello everybody!
I have never done board design professionally before, only as a hobby. Bringing skills up to the production level is not a problem.
I study oDesk offers, there are very simple projects for $ 20-100, which in our time is a very good part-time job.
But is it even possible to earn freelance in such a business? Do customers give the right to make mistakes and finish projects?
How to build relationships with the customer in such works?
