Why are not all inputs of the microcircuit used?

There is such a circuit preamplifier. Question: why, in fact, the circuit is duplicated for each channel and all inputs / outputs are not used on the NE5532 + why duplication of variable resistors? or I don't understand something?

Nothing is duplicated.
Look at the pin numbers for the different channels. On the right channel conclusions 1, 2, 3; on the left - 7, 6, 5 of the same microcircuit. Yes, and the designation of the microcircuit: OP3 in the output stage in both the left and right channels.

why duplication of variable resistors?
Also not duplication, but dual resistors. How else can you keep the channel separation?
not all inputs/outputs are used
This microcircuit has only 8 legs, of which the 4th "ground", the 8th is power, there are 3 legs per channel, they are all used in the circuit.

Pins 8 and 4 are the power supply of the microcircuit. It's just not shown in the diagram.
