Is it possible to use the server for multiple computers?

Hello. I am very far from all this, so the questions are as stupid as possible.

Let's say there is an office for 8-10 people. They work mainly in 1s programs and in the browser. Is it possible to make sure that in case of disappearance/theft/confiscation of computers one could continue working? That is, in the office, put computers not with i3 or i5, but the cheapest ones on celeron with 2GB of RAM, but so that they all connect via the Internet to the server (located elsewhere) and consume its resources. That is, each user has his own separate desktop. Is it possible?

And if so, how much would such a computer cost? I mean for this task: 8-10 people working simultaneously in browsers and in accounting. I looked at the shops. There are server processors (do you need a server one?), They cost from 15 to 315 thousand. What is needed? And about memory: if conditionally 32GB of RAM, then each will be allocated plus or minus 4GB, or it will be total memory and the user will see all 32GB, and there, in fact, whoever filled it first is the last one. Here is the question, by the way: "if it is a total of 32GB of memory, is it possible to allocate 4GB for each user, or even better like this: 2 users - 16 each, 4 users - 8GB each?"

And the last thing: wouldn't it be cheaper to rent a server?

ps I ask you not to give advice on the topic: "better turn to professionals, and do not try to do it yourself."
I don't do anything and I don't intend to. Just a personal interest arose, how this is done and whether it is possible.

Contact the professionals. Already in the idea itself, your approach is not quite correct - I suspect that the cost of licensing Windows Server and the CALs required for it will be higher than the cost of hardware.
And so, you can conduct a test, rent the necessary power in the cloud (Azure from MS) and evaluate the performance.

Can I have a little advice - do not mention "withdrawal" in the list of risks :) A person who puts a withdrawal into the risks is perceived as a person who is preparing something illegal (and we are all, under the roar of cannonade, led by Pindostan, saw Orwell). Write better "fire" :)
Yes, you can. In the data center (where there is serious security and fire protection, and stealing from there is much more difficult), a server is installed (or rented, or a VPS is taken - it all depends on the budget and qualifications), on which the necessary services are deployed, backups are configured, etc.
Dishman microITX cases are purchased for workplaces (the size of a large book - a little more than my edition of the Bible), which cling to this server over the network, and carry only an axis on themselves, use RDP, if Windows or other protocols, if not Windows, and all the work goes to the server.
Such is the architecture.
Then it all depends on the budget that is under this case.

There is such a thing as thin clients, RDP, Thinstation, WTWare

Yes it is possible. Can buy. You can rent
the easiest way. Renting a server on a hosting abroad
Depending on the volume of databases 1, and the programs that employees use - from 64GB of RAM to 128GB
The processor is calculated in the same way as for RAM.
You don't understand rdp correctly.
TimWeaver is designed to help the user and connect to HIS desktop.
RDP is designed to work on a remote PC / server. Simultaneous
The number of connections depends only on the capacity of the server. Half the world has been doing this for a long time...
