Is it possible to use Raspberry pi / Orange pi as a base for a payment terminal?

Hello Guys) Such a question, is it possible to use single-board computers for the base of the payment terminal? Which model is best suited, if any. I would like to assemble something like this)) because such a piece of iron yums many times less, and even if you stuff it into a separate block, then it’s easier to mess around with them. But what about the software part? As I can see, bill acceptor manufacturers have drivers for linux (I had little to do with linux), what if you install ubuntu or debian, will the drivers get up normally? Well, I'm interested in everyone's opinion :)

Why not, an excellent solution, inexpensive and consumes little, you can still save on uninterrupted service. And you need to use the hardware that fits the parameters has fresh linux builds
