Is it possible to update the BIOS, the new version of which does not support the old processor?
Good day! The essence of the question is that I want to make a cheap computer upgrade with the transition to Xeon e3-1275-v2. I don't know what to do with the BIOS version. At the moment, the ASRock H61M-S board is equipped with i3 2105. BIOS version is P1.10 (on the official website, this processor only supports this BIOS version). And on the same official site, my potentially new Xeon e3-1275-v2 only supports P1.50. Question: Can I update the BIOS to P1.50 on the i3 2105 and then change the processor to a new one? The computer will not start already on the old processor? What is the best way to act in this situation? THANK YOU ALL in advance for your replies :)

Load it into the UEFI Tool, look in the FIT section for the microcode sets and their IDs, if the new BIOS has the same IDs as the old one (well, or plus new ones have appeared), then your processor will work on the new BIOS version.
You can also google exactly the ID of your processor, but IMHO, the above is enough
