Is it possible to take two different RAM?

I have a DDR4 Hynix 2666 in my laptop and I wanted to buy a DDR4 HyperX 2666. I would like to ask if they will work badly or everything will be fine.

PS: both have the same frequency and timings.

It will work, but at what timings (you need extreme ones) and the main thing is that working in dual channel mode is questionable.
It is for the sake of guarantees that price lists are sold in pairs or four memory sticks tested for compatibility.
