Domain Name System

Is it possible to somehow make the browser understand that ".local" is a domain?

If you enter any set of letters in any browser in the address bar, and at the end - .ru/.com/.net , etc., then the browser understands that this is a domain name and tries to open it.
If I enter any set of letters in the address bar, and .local , then the browser necessarily begins to perceive this as a search string, not counting .local as a domain, and opens its search page with the site name entered in the search bar.
Maybe someone already asked this question before me, and solved the problem? After clearing the cache, it gets annoying to enter http:// before the domain name every time to get to the local site.
Interested in a solution for any browser - be it Yandex.Browser / Chrome / Edge (which I liked by the way) / FF

Tell the DNS system that knows that .local is the domain. Also is able to resolve addresses from this domain.

How it infuriates me to go from the search engine to the page where there should be an answer, and there is a question that has remained unanswered ...
In Opera (for 2021), this is done by:

1. You enter test.local into the address bar 2.
You copy it.
3. RMB -> Paste and Go
