In my hostel there are two stages of passage to the building: External checkpoint and inside the building. Yesterday I entered at an external checkpoint, putting my pass on the reader, the turnstile allowed me to pass. However, already on the inside, the pass was ignored, and when checking the pass in the room for issuing passes, I was informed that it was broken.
I'm not very familiar with such wireless technologies, so I'm interested in the following questions:
1) how does this technology work and is it correctly called? (Do I understand correctly that this is NFC?)
2) is it possible to diagnose and restore such passes?
