Is it possible to replace the north bridge in a laptop only with a blow dryer?

There is a Lenovo g555 laptop, the north bridge died in it, I ordered a new one in China, but I don’t have the necessary tools and devices to solder it from the tools, there is only a soldering dryer, the question is, if I wrap the board in foil (except for the chip itself), will I succeed warm it up enough to replace it with a new one? Well, so that the new one warms up normally and sits down as expected. If so, what temperature should the hair dryer be set to? I thought to try 300+ degrees.

Without experience, you will most likely ruin a new chip and / or motherboard.

Chelyabinsk men with steel eggs can solder with an iron !!!!
In fact: all options except for the IR station are fiction and greatly increase the risk of ruining the motherboard. because one warming up of the chip is not enough so that the textolite does not lead, you must first warm up the entire board to 100, and only then, using the calculated thermal profile, heat up the chip itself - this is a soldering technology when the chip is no longer a pity. But with the reverse procedure, the risks add another opportunity to kill the chip and position it incorrectly (bluntly blown away or skewed by the wind).
So it is better to give it to a normal master with normal equipment, especially since the power of an average even soldering dryer is enough only for warming up, and not for desoldering the chip.

unsoldering the old bridge without damaging the motherboard is just the beginning, there are much more problems to carefully solder the new one onto the corresponding tracks
, if you are interested and willing to do it yourself, then I would advise you to practice on non-working boards and try to solder / solder various microcircuits; of course, it will no longer be possible to check their performance, but at least you will fill your hand; Well, did the contacts match the tracks - it will be possible to ring the tester

no, not only. also a heated table, a reball device, probably a microscope and extremely hard hands, or, again, a device for mounting bga microcircuits. :)
// well, X-ray later for quality control..

Weigh the risks of "Killing the motherboard" and the "Price of vrprosa" resoldering the chip in the workshop, make a decision.
If you decide to solder - find dead motherboards and video cards and practice - solder-solder.
Or old living ones - to check for "aliveness" after soldering.
After 10-20 soldering and 5 successful ones in a row, you can mock your laptop ...

It goes without saying, but I never got an answer to the question, is it worth borrowing a hair dryer? Or one hair dryer will not be enough to warm up the BGA?
