Is it possible to remove the GSM module from the mobile phone to connect it to the Arduino?

Adequate Chinese GSM modules cost from 1000-1500 rubles. And the cheapest mobile phone is about 500 rubles (+ there are a lot of old ones lying around at home). Actually, the question arises ...
Specifically, the transfer of data in the form of SMS from the module to the mobile phone and the reception of commands to the module are of interest.

Phones usually do not have a separate gsm module.
But the phone itself is essentially a gsm module. And many have a simple rx tx connection system and support for at commands. + you can remove the display to consume less.

The phone is "a module on its own", it will not be possible to tear out the necessary part of the circuit, but you can use it entirely (and if you contrive - also its battery as a backup power).

Such modules are often found in tablets.
