But, frankly, why would the data be lost? The new OS will be installed in the "Windows" folder, moving the old OS to the "Windows Old" folder, but the data is not stored in the OS folder.
Manually - there are many ways. For example, use the built-in "Data and Parameters Transfer Wizard" (if the name has not been changed again).
