Is it possible to register a route to the Internet through someone else's router in the provider's local network?

Good afternoon. There is a question about the hypothetical possibility of such a method.
There is me and a neighbor. We are both connected to the same provider. The provider provides a l2tp connection before issuing a local ip like 10.*.*.*
The neighbor has a TP-LINK TL-WR841N router with a configured connection. I have a laptop with a configured connection. Everything works for everyone, Internet and local.
Suppose I remove the l2tp connection settings from my laptop. The situation is as follows: I get only a local ip, while the Internet becomes unavailable for me. However, I see devices in the local area of the entire entrance without any problems and can, for example, go into the web interface of my neighbor's router (he has access from wan enabled).
Question:
Is it possible to register static routes in my laptop and in my neighbor's router so that my laptop can access the Internet through my neighbor's router? Those. so that I can use the neighbor's Internet using his connection.
(And all this without additional tools like the VPN server function in the router, especially since there is no such thing in TP-Link)
I’ll say right away that I’m not going to steal the Internet in this way - today it makes no sense, and it still won’t work if your blocked for example for non-payment. It is interesting in principle whether it is possible to lay such routes through the wan-port of the router and how they will look.

Assign the neighbor's local ip address as your gateway, that's the whole route.
But this is not enough. In the router, you need to configure nat on the wan port. From home, only routers on RouterOS and DD / OpenWRT can do this.
