Is it possible to put firewood from Win8.1 on Win8?

The bottom line is this: as many have probably heard, AMD stopped releasing drivers for their video cards under Win8 and now releases only under 8.1 and 7. Question: did anyone put firewood from 8.1 on the eight (I have laptop graphics and therefore reviews from laptop owners will be in priority)?
