Can't restore SQL database?

I have bak file 2009 base SH. The SH base is now operational. I have created a new SQL database SH_test and want to load a 2009 bak file into it. When loading, it writes an error and does not load. As I understand it, there is an attempt to upload a bak file to the working SH database. How do I upload a bak file to a new SH_test database?

Boot into safe mode - which is the point ... with VGA and report back.
