Is it possible to programmatically make the router work through PPPOE if it is designed for ADSL?

I got a ZyXEL P669HN router from my friends. I tried to set it up but it didn't work. I contacted the provider, he replied that it would not be possible to make it work. Because the router is designed for adsl, and the provider uses a PPPOE connection.
The router has Ethernet ports to connect the provider's cable. But the question is, are there any firmware that can make the router work through these ports, according to the desired protocol?

Buy a normal router. And give this one to someone who uses an ADSL connection

https://zyxel.ru/kb/2143 Here you can try, by analogy with IPTV, try to configure the WAN-port for the Internet
D-Link is configured, I did it myself.

It depends on what kind of router. I have an adsl router, you can set up a connection in it and via pppoe. I have Acorp.
