Is it possible to make commercial plugins for Gimp

I need to make a commercial image processing application. There is an idea to make it in the form of plug-ins for Gimp. Does the license prohibit the sale of closed source plugins?

If I remember correctly, then there is a GPLv2 + license, i.e. You can sell, but you will definitely have to attach the source code of the plugins.
Without the source codes, it would be possible with the LGPL

In general, GIMP allows batch processing of images when called from the command line (as an external program), it will no longer be a plug-in and in this case you can make your program arbitrarily closed.
