Is it possible to install Ubuntu Server in a virtual machine on Windows and keep them in sync?

Hello! Such a question: I want to install Ubuntu Server 16.04 in a Virtualbox virtual machine. Physical machine on Win10.
It is necessary that this server perform the duties of a local server (you can access it from Windows at localhost or 127.0.0.1), in addition, it is desirable that you can copy/rename/delete/move/create files on the hard drive of the virtual server directly from Windows (mount *.vdi image).
I know about local servers like XAMPP and OpenServer.
Or install Windows Subsystem on Linux.
I can’t switch to Linux (but I would like to), because my wifi adapter, through which I connect to the internet, causes Ubuntu/Linux Mint to freeze (no response to mouse and keyboard).

No problem.

It's not entirely clear what you mean.
The local computer is the computer on which you are working or on which the program is running. And it is to him that you refer to the address localhost or 127.0.0.1. That is, if you type this address in the ubunt browser, there will be an appeal to ubunt, if you type it on windows, there will be an appeal to windows.
Although, if you wish, you can use cunning crutches to forward ports so that the computer, when accessing the local address, redirects the request to the remote machine.

You can work with files without any problems by connecting the disk as a banal network ball.
It is possible to work with a disk image, including mounting it as a local one, but of course the virtual machine must be turned off at this moment.
I know about local servers like XAMPP and OpenServer.
I'm glad for you, but I don't understand how this relates to the question.
Or install Windows Subsystem on Linux.
Nobody forbids, you can do whatever you want.
I can’t switch to Linux (but I would like to), because my wifi adapter, through which I connect to the internet, causes Ubuntu/Linux Mint to freeze (no response to mouse and keyboard).
It's sad, but who's stopping you from installing normal drivers, or changing the adapter?

Good wish. Put :)

Impossible. Windows will have its own 127.0.0.1, bubunta will have its own . 127.0.0.1 is not a real address. This is an address imitation, packets directed to this address do not go anywhere. This address always points to the local computer and cannot point to another. From the word at all.
it is desirable to be able to copy/rename/delete/move/create files on the hard drive of the virtual server directly from Windows
Install samba, create a ball. Voila!
causes Ubuntu/Linux Mint to hang (no response to mouse and keyboard).
What prevents you from looking for more other firewood or more other distribution? Or at least another version of the same distribution? Google ask in the end? In Linux, they very often adhere to the principle "saving the drowning is the work of the drowning themselves"
