Is it possible to install Snow Leopard on iMac Early 2008?

I'm going to buy an iMac 24 "Early 2008, 2.8GHz, 320 GB HD, 4 GB RAM, Mac OS X 10.5.8
Judging by the compatibility table , no operating system older than 10.5.4 can be installed on it.
Snow Leopard Requirements from Wikipedia:

  • Mac computer with an Intel processor (IA-32). "Yonah" processors such as Core Solo and Core Duo can run only 32-bit applications; later x86-64 architecture processors such as Core 2 Duo will also be able to run 64-bit applications.
  • 1 GB of RAM
  • 5 GB free disk space
  • DVD drive (also accessible via Remote Disc) or external USB or FireWire DVD drive for installation

It rolls according to system requirements. What are the barriers to installing Snow Leopard (or even Lion) on this iMac?

According to the link in the question is not a compatibility table.
It lists the versions that came with the computer when you bought it.
On the question - there should be no problems with either SnowLeo or Lion.

They probably forgot to update the data :)
Bars will work without problems 100%, I don’t know about Lev. there hasn't been a release yet. Is it possible to climb the forums and look for reviews about the DP version of

If core 2 duo, then the lion will pull. Installed on the very first white macbook with core 2 duo lion - everything is ok.
