Between Android devices, of course, you can. Initially, NFC was added to nexuses for this. Well, more precisely, not for direct transmission, but for "pairing" via Bluetooth without additional gestures.
Everything is in the documentation. There is nothing particularly difficult.
I'm not talking about iOS. Given Apple's penchant for bicycles, I wouldn't be surprised if that's not possible.
