Hello everyone!) I work as a SEO optimizer in the studio. I work officially. I am dealing with different cms. I am also learning javascript and php. I am very interested in these languages. At work, there are no significant prohibitions to climb into the code. "If it works, do it" is what they say. What can I implement on the sites. I also make a freelance site on wordpress for a customer. I really want to be a web developer, but I understand that so far there is not enough experience and skills. Tell me, is it realistic to switch from Seo to Web development? Are there people who have succeeded? Feel free to share your opinion/thoughts/experience.
PS I'm learning myself. I read books and watch webinars. On open server I put cms'ki I am picked. I'm thinking about an apprenticeship at uni.

What difference does it make who you were or who you are now. Anyone can retrain.
You have doping in general. You work as a SEO specialist, you know websites, you dig into the code, you even edit something. You already have an understanding of the platform. While you work, teach, do something freelancing.
Start your own git, do your projects there, read books, watch lessons on youtube, as soon as you understand that you are ready, do not rush, you are not ready!!! Make your project for the cat from 0 by yourself, without anyone. Make up from 0, add jquery plugins, put it on wp, put it on hosting, place the project in the git and then you can go to the position of a junior. The only question is which one, js jun or php jun. Better pick one.

It's not right away. Univer will not teach you how to be a programmer. I am writing to you as a person who graduated from the university by profession in absentia.
I also changed my occupation not so long ago. I spent all my free time (weekends, after work) studying JS, layout. And after some time it gave results. After I realized that I could do something, I started bombarding everyone with my resume on job search sites with my resume. After a week of looking for a job, two different companies offered me an internship, that is, I even could choose!
And so nothing is impossible. You just have to sweat for a while and forget about games, rest, etc.

At first he worked as a SEO specialist, along the way he began to make up, study the backing and edit everything that was necessary on his own, because. Delegating tasks and waiting for their completion from someone there is not to my liking.
If you want to do well and as you planned - do it yourself.
I took up the framework, made projects for myself - stuffing my hands and mastering the principles.
I grew out of SEO, went completely into development, the flight is normal.

10,000 developers can make 10,000 good sites, but 10,000 optimizers cannot bring 10,000 sites to the Top 10 for the same query. There are only 10 places in the Top 10 :)
