Is it possible to forward a gaming virtual machine to a thin client?
Good afternoon fellows!
An idea arose (however, I have not yet fully assessed its expediency and reality).
On the virtualization server (put in the garage so as not to make noise), raise a Windows machine (in addition to a couple more server ones) for home use and toys . How to implement Windows forwarding to your room? (at school there were 5+ in professional terminology). By physical means, well, or ideally, of course, on a thin client.
And, in general, is it possible while maintaining acceptable performance?

Everything has already been thought of for us.
How it works for me: raspberry pi 3b+ with steam link installed. On the gaming computer, autorun steam and enabled wol. Everything works like clockwork.
And, in general, is it possible while maintaining acceptable performance?no
First, solve the question of how you will forward the video card to the virtual machine, otherwise you can simply get up on error 43 with nvidia cards. There is such a thing as steamlink, it can forward, among other things, third-party games, this is just like a thin client for games, but nothing prevents you from simply installing a client on the steam thin client, it also knows how to broadcast.
I myself use a bunch of proxmox, windows 10 VM (uefi) + rx560 card, steamlink.
It all works fine, but I have a wired network, it’s not a fact that it will start on wifi (read the recommendations for steamlink)
I don’t see any performance drawdowns.
It seems that nvidia and amd have similar clients for broadcasting, but as far as I remember they are paid, there are open source open source clients, but I haven’t seen normal ones (without dancing with a tambourine) among them.
Is there a vidyakha on the virtualization server? Or such toys that it is not needed?
Perhaps it's easier to increase the length of the monitor cable and usb, and just connect without any virtualization?
1. In the vast majority of garages, there are problems with normal electricity, up to just disappearing for a couple of hours. Well, without a good stabilizer, it will quickly fly out. And again - dragging a good Internet into the garage will not always work.
2. Security - if there is so much equipment in the garage, it’s not very good without an alarm. Trouble again.
2. If you are concerned about the noise of the gaming machine - take it out to the balcony, a couple of small holes for cables and that's it.
And servers - rent VPS, why use your own?
