Is it possible to disable hot display port?
Good afternoon, I recently learned that hdmi cannot be turned on / off hot. I recently bought a TV and wanted to turn it into a monitor. and in this regard, the question arose whether it is possible to enable / disable the display port on a hot one. I have this lineup now (hdmi <-> DVI === DVI <-> mini display port) (it connects to a macbook), but I want to connect hdmi 2.0 (for 4K) <-> (hdmi converter) display port or mini display port (for poppy beech). Is it possible to pull out the cable in this configuration? if for example I want to take a laptop somewhere?

As far as I know, it is displayport that can. But in the case of the presence of adapters ... probably not worth it.
We always turned on HDMI on the "hot" TV and set-top box several times a day (IPTV connection at the subscriber), there were no problems. There are also no problems with adapters, sometimes Chinese adapters are sensitive to the connection sequence - this can affect the auto-detection of screen resolution and nothing more.
The most important condition is that the devices must be galvanically isolated, which is fulfilled in most cases. The second condition is to try to turn on the connector starting from the initial contact of the metal housings of the connectors, i.e. at a slight angle.
In practice, I can note the danger of "hot" turning on the COM port and the "mouse" and keyboard connectors (which are not USB), as well as any output from a stationary computer to a television receiver.
