Is it possible to attach a plant for 50 workshops to a one-story private house? Of course, it is possible, but it is better to attach 5 workshops to the already existing 45 finished plants. I mean, MODx has a rather narrow scope of purpose, and using it for everything is not right.

Any functionality, having only knowledge of php will not work. If you need to create component pages in the admin panel, then you will need knowledge of ExtJS.
In my opinion, it is better to master any frameworks (Yii, Laravel) for specific tasks.
