Is it possible to customize PulseAudio?

The question arose whether I should bother with setting up PulseAudio or not.
I have the following situation, there is a server on which Alsa is currently successfully configured through which MPD plays, while there is a working machine without a sound card.
Required:
You need to configure PulseAudio on the server in such a way that it can play music both via mpd as it happens at the moment, but at the same time it can receive sound from a remote machine on which, as I understand it, you will also need to configure sound broadcasting to the network using the same PA.
Is it possible to set up PA once so that you don't have to change any settings on the server each time from where it plays the sound or not?
