Is it possible to crack ".rar", ".zip" archives with a password?

I want to save files on a USB flash drive, and in order to protect them in case the flash drive is lost, I put passwords on them
. How safe is it to put passwords through archiving in rar, zip formats? The password is complicated

Safe, according to the elusive Joe rule. Most likely, no one needs you, the contents of your flash drive and your archives.
If your flash drive is found by a random passer-by, with a 50% probability he will be unable to crack, with a 50% probability he will not be interested. 25% remain, which is close to the Pareto rule (80 to 20, where 80% this hack will simply not be needed).
If your archives are named something neutral, and not "Passwords from my bank accounts.zip", and the contents of the archives are hidden, then in principle it is safe.
The password should be not only complex, but also long, because brute-forcers for archives are freely available on the net.
And answering the question directly: yes, it is possible to hack, because. all archivers are unstable to the usual brute force.
