Is it possible to connect two SFP+ adapters via Direct Attached Cable?

There are two HP Proliant DL 380p servers.
One of the servers uses an HP 523SFP adapter with an HP x132 transceiver embedded in it. The whole thing is connected to the switch via an FC-FC cable.
The second server has an HP 570FLR-SFP adapter without transceivers.
There is an idea to make two servers friends with each other via Direct Attached Cable (eg HP X240). Will it work?

there will be
a DAC - this is, in fact, two SFP + transceivers and a cable assembly between them
