Is it possible to connect SATA drives via SAS Backplane to a regular motherboard with an Intel Z370 chipset?

People who know tell me. We want to purchase a case from the Chinese ( https://ru.aliexpress.com/item/32824461987.html) for our configuration, we plan to transfer the following components to this case: ATX motherboard on Z370, i7 8700, 32GB of RAM and in general N-th number of disks (both 3.5" and 2.5"). The question is, the disks are connected physically through the baskets to the backplane panel, from the panel there is a mini SAS 8087 to SATA cable (1 to 4) ( https://ru.aliexpress.com/item/32812041179.html?sp... these 4 the SATA fanouts will just be plugged into the SATA connectors on the motherboard, would that work?

@gbg

SAS is backward compatible with SATA. In SAS, you can plug in a SATA drive.

And there the connector itself is not compatible with sata.
According to the protocol, there are no problems, but there will be nothing to connect
