Is it possible to combine various devices into a platform to increase computing power?

Good day.
Actually, there are two questions, the second follows from the first:
1. Is it possible to combine devices (phone + tablet + PC, in general, all possible gadgets at hand) in order to have common access to some data, increase computing power and perform all sorts of operations , which can be implemented (in the future)?
2. What components for such manipulations already exist and which, theoretically, can be implemented?
The architecture of such a structure can be anything (within reason, of course), but in the future it will all be reduced to the required minimum. OS also.
I would be very grateful for any grain of information, if someone has such.
All ongoing work has the task of research, but to realize this in the material world is my little dream :)

Something often this question began to be asked.
You already have shared access to some data (this is called the "Internet"), and to balance the calc. the load on heterogeneous, low-power, cheap, devices involved in other scenarios is some kind of flea circus.
