Is it possible to change the control in rzx-41?

I bought myself a portable rzx-41 console and I'm happy with everything, except for the control for a couple of emulators.
Is there a way to get into the emulator settings and remap the keys?
If you need to edit the firmware for this, tell me the tools and guides, I can figure it out at my leisure, but I would like without it.
