I don't want to show ads on my site for certain competitor sites of my core business. Adsense is currently running in automated ads mode. Is there any way to block certain sites from showing up? Can't find information.

Yes, you can. Often, only for 24 hours.
To do this, go to AdSense, Blocking Management - All Sites and there you can already select the URL
