Is it possible to be a web designer and a programmer at the same time?

Is it possible to be a great website designer and be a good programmer? in the field of php, js, css, html, cms 1c bitrix, wordpress
1.5 years ago I wanted to learn how to make turnkey websites, design, backend and frontend, except for setting up seo.
At the moment I know php at an intermediate level and to consolidate I am taking a php course from qsoft in skillbox.
7 months ago I started learning to draw website design in Photoshop, also using skillbox courses.
The problem is that
when I start practicing web design and don’t write code for a week, for example, I start to forget the moments, effective solutions in php, 1c bitrix.
When I switch to programming, I lose some skills and speed of design creation
How to be in such a situation? I often hear at webminars that you need to do one thing, you should choose smm advertising, then choose advertising on VK or Instagram,
but I really like web design and programming (and I wouldn’t want to give up something, I can spend all weekend both on design and to write
code.Maybe you need to alternate, design day, coding day or look for other solutions(
If someone has already gone through this and was in a similar situation, please tell me the best solution, thanks in advance

I do not know a single law of nature or Russia that would prevent you from doing this.

This area is already divided into at least three.
This is
don't call with it
For courses above the beginner do not exist. At least in skillbox and geekbrains.
Each specialization requires full attention. If you try to study two specializations, you will most likely be a maximum middle in both of them.
Other specializations are useful to learn in order to broaden your horizons. But it's hard to learn well.

Can. You can also administer a little.
It's called full-stack-developer.
With due effort, you can get there in xx years (usually double digit years)

Can. But it rarely turns out really well to do both - these activities require very different sets of knowledge and a style of thinking.

Good afternoon. I myself have the same situation. There is a cumulative experience in graph. and UI design for over 10 years. In development, he touched on a lot, but most of all he worked in the front. Because of the switching, growth in the front is not as fast as we would like. Therefore, I am going to choose the main line of further development. There are two options here: the path of rationalists is to focus on where the work experience is greater, and the front will go in this case as an adjacent competence. The second option is obviously the opposite. I will advise you to make a couple of verified both from the point of view of the interface and from the point of view of development, not too complicated, but working home projects. It is desirable that they be applied. Those. it will be a kind of product work. Put it in your portfolio. This way you emphasize that you have related competencies. This is a very big plus. Many talk about "seamless" design (development). Well, and then still choose the main direction of activity and continue to develop the adjacent one.
As for the possibility of combining both in principle - yes, it is absolutely real. Here, combining creative design and programming will be more difficult, it's like working at CERN, and drawing children's illustrations in the evenings. This rarely happens.

Can? Can!
How good? I do not know, one thing will prevail 100%. Outstanding - definitely not.
Make one area your job and the other a hobby.
And if it is not completed and you need another day, and then another? And if the order is large for a month? What if there is a skew in orders?
You need to work on an industrial scale in both directions and then you will understand which one infuriates you more))
